Homeopathy is practised in 41 out of 42 European countries and is officially recognized in the national health system in a number of countries both within and outside Europe.

The following research findings were put together put together by the European Network for Homeopathy Researchers (ENHR) and are backed by fully referenced scientific studies.

Acute sinusitis

Headache, pressure pain and irritating coughs were reduced in 119 sufferers after four days on Homeopathic treatment.  The treatments lasted an average of two weeks and 81.5pc of patients said they were symptom free or significantly improved after that time.

ADHD

A group l of 115 hyperactive patients between three and 17 years of age showed a 73pc clinical improvement after homeopathic treatment.

Allergies:  - Hay fever, asthma and perennial rhinitis

A study of 200 patients suffering from hypersensitivity illnesses, including asthma, eczema, urticaria, hayfever and other allergies found that homeopathy was at least as effective as conventional treatment.  Patients in the homeopathy group reported a larger improvement in their general state of health after treatment compared to the conventional group

Arthritis

A study published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology showed that 82 pc of patients with rheumatoid arthritis experienced some degree of relief after homeopathy. Only 21pc of patients given a placebo experienced a similar degree of relief.

Diarrhoea in children

Children between six months and 5years in Nicaragua showed significant improvement when treated with Homeopathy for acute childhood diarrhoea.

A similar study of Nepalese children in the same age group showed the same response.

Glue ear in children

More than seven in 10 children (75per cent) had a normal tympanogram after homeopathic treatment compared to 31pc of those treated with conventional medicine.

Hot Flushes

Women suffering hot flushes after breast cancer surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, showed an improvement with Homeopathic treatment in a study at a British homeopathic hospital.

Infertility

57 per cent of women in a trial on fertility reported positive results with homeopathy. Sperm quality improved in a trial of 45 sub-fertile men after Homeopathy.

ME/CFS

One third of patients in a trial of 62 people with ME reported a definite improvement after Homeopathic treatment.

Menopause

88pc reported improvements in symptoms with Homeopathy when treated for hot flushes, sweats, tiredness, anxiety, sleeping difficulties, mood swings and headaches.

Oestrogen withdrawal

Forty out of 45 women with breast cancer and withdrawing from oestrogen reported a significant improvement in anxiety and depression when treated with Homeopathy.

Otitis Media.

Pain lasted an average of two days for those treated with Homeopathy compared to three days for those on conventional treatment.  Seven in 10 of the children did not have another ear infection over the next 12 months compared to 50pc of those on conventional treatment.  In the group on Homeopathy only five children out of 103 needed antibiotics.

Pre menstrual syndrome (PMS)

90pc of women treated with Homeopathy for this condition reported a more than 30pc improvement in one clinical trial.

Psychological complaints.

81pc of patients were “very satisfied”; 16pc “satisfied” and 3pc “not satisfied at all after homeopathic treatment for psychological complaints.

Respiratory tract complaints

A study of  500 patients treated by 30 practitioners in four countries  showed a response rate of 82.6pc when treated with Homeopathy compared to 67.3pc of those treated with conventional medicine.

Surgery

A study of 26 patients who had a face lift operation showed those taking Homepathic Arnica had significantly smaller areas of bruising after the operation.
