Homeopathy is popular in France, England, Germany, Greece, India, Pakistan, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and South Africa.
In India, Homeopathy is considered at par with conventional medicine.
Approximately 40% of the French public have used homeopathic medicines.
About 20% of German physicians occasionally utilize these natural medicines, and 45% of Dutch physicians consider them effective.
Europe
One in four EU citizens uses Homeopathic medicines. The World Health Organisation(WHO) has declared that Homepathy is the second-most used medical system internationally.
Homeopathy is practised in 41 out of 42 European countries and officially recognised by the National Health Services in a number of countries both within and outside Europe.
Homeopathy is the most frequently used CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) therapy in five out of 14 countries in Europe. It is among the three most frequently used CAM therapy in 11 out of 14 countries.
In Europe30 million people or 29pc of the population use homeopathy for their health.
UK
There are about 1,000 registered homeopaths working in the UK at the moment and around 1,000 medical doctors who practise form form of homoepathy. The profession is expanding by 8-9pc each year and there are no 20 colleges of homeopathy including 1 in Wales, 2 in Scotland and a dozen in London and the south of England. T
United States
Americans spent $2.9billion on homeopathic medicines in a single year, according to a new study. The same study showed that just under one in four adults in the US and just over one in 10 children under the age of 18 years use CAM.
India
At present there are nearly 186 homeopathic medical college in India. Approximately 35 are government colleges, rest are managed by private bodies. Homeopathy is the third most popular method of treatment in India, after Allopathy and Ayurveda.
It is estimated that there are about quarter million homeopaths in India. Nearly 10,000 new ones add to this number every year. The legal status of homeopathy in India is very much at par with the conventional medicine.
